The Laguna Maasai Foundation is the non-profit charity wing of the LBHS MUN program. Since 2012, students and staff have been working to improve the lives of the Maasai villagers of Oloolaimutia, Kenya.
By working directly with a teacher at the village elementary school, we are able to financially support our initiatives with no intermediaries. Other than bank transfer fees, 100% of our proceeds reaches the village. We invite you to join us in our efforts to build a better future for our neighbors on the other side of the world.

The Laguna Maasai Foundation has joined forces with FLOW, LBHS' environmental advocacy and service program, to auction eight decorated Rain Barrels to the community. All proceeds go toward building a $31,000 well in Oloolaimutia, providing sorely needed water for drinking, sanitation, and food.
Eight rain barrels are up for auction from May 26th to June 1st, 2023. They were uniquely decorated by Laguna Beach students of all ages.

Our Beneficiary
Our charity work mainly revolves around supporting the Oloolaimutia Primary School in Maasai Mara, Kenya. The students, staff, and parents at this rural Kenyan school face almost unimaginable challenges. Every dollar we raise makes a world of difference.

Our Work
PastWe raised over $13,000 for a wind-solar generator to power the entire school. Before that, there was no electricity for the students of Oloolaimutia Primary School. We have also provided 75 desks to the 4th grade class.
|
PresentThe Laguna Maasai Foundation directly supports two students, Gladys and Leonard, through our scholarship program. Our funds have helped them complete secondary school and attend university.
Our fundraising benefits the broader village, too: From subsidizing sanitary products during COVID-19 to financing new classroom facilities, we improve the quality of life in Oloolaimutia. |
FutureExpanding access to clean water in Oloolaimutia is a core priority of the Laguna Maasai Foundation. We have begun raising funds for the $31,000 well project through our Summer 2023 FLOW Rain Barrel Auction, but we won't be successful without your help.
